“On behalf of the company Nores Watertech, we want to thank the Federal Agency for Fisheries and Naberezhnye Chelny for the help, thanks to which we were able to come to this decision, -  said the representative of Nores Watertech. - We are pleased to invest in the implementation of the project in this region. We were discussing this issue for three to four months. There are many directions on which we can cooperate”.

In the fall of 2018, other Norwegian companies will be involved in the project. “We will cooperate with various research institutes of Norway and Tatarstan. We talked a lot with representatives of the academic environment, scientists are interested in this project”, - informed the Norwegian investor.

Deputy Head of the Federal Fishery Agency Vasily Sokolov noted that the domestic fish market in Russia is very large. “We are interested to be filled as soon as possible with quality fish, the technology of production of which has already existed in the world, - emphasized Vasily Sokolov. - Many years ago a working group was established to enhance the relationship in the field of technology and aquaculture. For many years it had no effect, but today’s session and the signing of the agreement open a new field for interaction. I want to thank Rustam Minnikhanov and his team, who were able to interest the Norwegian company in the project, to show the capabilities of the republic and to make an important step for all of us”.

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said during the session that Tatarstan as one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia with great interest relates to the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with Norway.

“Constructive relations have established between our countries. It is important that in the current conditions, despite the difficult foreign policy situation, we have managed to maintain economic ties. Although the dynamics of trade turnover last year showed negative values, the results of the first half of the year give us hope”, - said Rustam Minnikhanov.

In his opinion, Tatarstan has all necessary conditions for expanding cooperation with Norway. “This is an advantageous geographical location, significant water resources, developed transport infrastructure. To improve the investment climate in Tatarstan, work is underway to create and improve the business development infrastructure, which allows us to retain the leading positions in the ratings of the most investment-attractive regions of Russia for a number of years”, - said the President of Tatarstan.

He also stressed that an important competitive advantage of Tatarstan is the availability of positive experience in implementing major projects in oil production and refining, chemistry and petrochemistry, automotive, aircraft and mechanical engineering, and agriculture. “A vivid example is the Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”, the most successful industrial zone in Russia. Currently, the republic jointly with the federal center is implementing a project to create territories for outpacing socio-economic development. While this is only Naberezhnye Chelny, three more cities will soon receive such status”, - he said.

“We have long been concerned with the development of the aquaculture sector. Certain steps have been taken in this direction, but for the first time we have implemented a project of such a level and scale as the production of salmon in a closed water supply installation. It is symbolic that the agreement is signed within the framework of the work of the joint commission, which for 40 years has been an effective tool in joint management of the main fish stocks of the Barents and Norwegian Seas”, - added Rustam Minnikhanov.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, it is gratifying that the Norwegian company is the partner, which is considered one of the world leaders in the field of production and processing in the field of aquaculture.
