WorldSkills: Interuniversity Championship has started in Kazan

The Interuniversity Championship (Kazan National Research Technological University – Kazan Chemical Technological Institute) in accordance with WorldSkills standards in the competence “Entrepreneurship” has started today in the Technopark “Idea”. The winners of the Interuniversity Championship will take part in the All-Russian Interuniversity Competition WorldSkills, which will be held in late November in Moscow.

Interuniversity competitions in the new format are being held from October 24 to November 1, 2017 in 11 competencies: tourism, entrepreneurship, fashion technology, hotel business, printing, web development, software solutions for business, network and system administration, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, laboratory and chemical analysis. More than 60 students of different faculties of the University take part in it. Technopark “Idea” has become one of the venues for the competitions.

“Entrepreneurship is quite new competence for Tatarstan. Within three days, WorldSkills participants are creating a business model, writing a business plan and presenting it. Participants will also make economic calculations. Thus, each competency is digitized through skills in the WorldSkills”, - said Raushaniya Zinurova, director of the Innovation Management Institute at the Kazan National Research Technological University – Kazan Chemical Technological Institute.

The acting rector of the Kazan National Research Technological University – Kazan Chemical Technological Institute Sergey Yushko and the acting general director of  Innovcvative Technopark “Idea” Oleg Ibragimov spoke with farewell words before the beginning entrepreneurs.

Sergey Yushko wished the participants good luck and suggested, in addition to participating in competitions, to study the activities of Technopark residents and consider options for cooperation.

Oleg Ibragimov noted that the doors of the Technopark are always open for students and gave start to competitions.

It will be noted that 44th World Championship WorldSkills Competition took place in Abu Dhabi from 14 to 19 of October 2017. 1255 contestants took part in the competition. Russian participants won more than 10 prize places in 52 competitive competencies. Among the winners is a student of KNITU-KChTI Vadim Polyakov, who won a gold medal in the competence of “Refrigeration equipment and air conditioning”.

The next, 45th World Championship of professional skill according to WorldSkills standards, will be held in Kazan from August 29 to September 3, 2019. The competitions will be held on the basis of the International Exhibition Center “Kazan Expo” with an area of 55.1 hectares, the construction of which will be completed in 2018.
