Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland in Russia studied the activities of “Nanopharma-Development”

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland in the Russian Federation Mr. Yves Rossier was with an official visit in Kazan from 22 to 24 of April. During the visit, he studied the industrial infrastructure and visited to the pharmaceutical plant “Nanopharma-Development”.

The delegation led by Mr. Yves Rossier looked through the observation corridor production, laboratory, micro laboratory, technical and clean rooms. During the visit, the ambassador was interested in the class of rooms, the movement of air flows and the pressure in it.

The ambassador was also told that in the third quarter of 2017 the first production lot of a drug Tacrolimus was produced for the needs of transplantology. Production of the next in turn Imatinib drug for the treatment of myeloid leukemia is planned in the near future. 10 drugs for the treatment of cancer, HIV, organ and tissue transplants and some orphan diseases are in the development of “Nanopharma-Development”.

Mr. Yves Rossier inquired about the involvement of the scientific community in the activities of companies. Elena Khazanova, R & D Director of Innovative Pharmaceuticals, spoke about the successful implementation of two socially significant projects with the Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University and the Moscow State University.

“Nanopharma-Development” develops and produces medicines (drug delivery systems), as well as potent drugs for the treatment of cancer, HIV infection, and drugs used in transplantology of TP. The laboratory and industrial complex was created in the Technopolis “Himgrad”.

History of the project: on March 26th, 2010 the results of the first open tender for the Nanotechnology Centre projects were announced. The tender was invited by the State Corporation “RUSNANOtech” (JSC “RUSNANO”). The collective application of Technopark "Idea" was among the winners, and the Technopark received the right to conclude an investment agreement with "Rusnano" on the implementation of the project to create a Nanotechnology Centre. As part of the creation of the Nanotechnology Centre, the pharmaceutical company “Izvarino Pharma” and Technopark “Idea” developed the anchor project - the laboratory and industrial complex  “Nanopharma-Development”.

“Nanopharma-Development” was established in Kazan in 2013.

At the end of December 2015, a decision to leave Technopark “Idea” from the project was made and a deal was concluded, as a result of which the share of the Nanocentre in “Nanopharma Development” was acquired by “Izvarino Pharma”.

The company “Nanopharma-Development” is included in the Nanotechnology Cluster of the Republic of Tatarstan and is a key pharmaceutical company.
