September 22-23, 2010 in Innovative Technopark “Idea” was held the Third Annual Investment Forum of Business Leaders “Innovation for business”. This year, a private investment consulting company “Marchmont Capital Partners” is conducting a series of investment forum “Innovation for business” in 12 cities of Russia including Kazan, Samara, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Tomsk and others.
The forums are intended to unite entrepreneurs, business angels and representatives of authorities, interested in increasing business efficiency and integration of a region into the global business community. The main purpose of the forums is the reduction of barriers for investors, looking for investment opportunities in the regions. The program of the forums was developed with the purpose to assist the projects development for its future commercialization and attract alternative source of financing.
The regional co-organizers of the forum in Kazan were Innovative Technopark “Idea” and Technopolis “Himgrad”.
The general partner of the series of Marchmont forums in 2010 are JSC “Russian Venture Company”. The Russian media partner is UNOVA Media (Moscow) in partnership with iCamp and BIT.
On the first day of the forum in the plenary session First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Muratov made welcoming speech and evaluation of the current state of the innovation economy of RT, as well as General Director of Managing Company “Idea Capital” and Technopolis “Himgrad” Albert Karimov, General Director of JSC “Idea and Partners” and Director of Innovation Oleg Ibragimov, founder and CEO of “Marchmont Capital Partners” Kendrick White and managing director of UBS SA Gregg Robins spoke with welcoming speech.
The participants of the forum were able to learn about the competitive advantages of Russia in the current economic conditions, the initiatives being undertaken in support of entrepreneurial education in Russian universities, the tax incentives to stimulate innovation, the role of innovation in the modernization of industry, about the features of management training for realization of innovation development program of a company, and also the establishment of an effective marketing strategy of company and much more.
On the second day of the forum on the round table the main subjects were become the alternatives of attracting investment capital to innovative projects and ways of enterprise modernization; businessmen shared their success stories and practices of innovative projects development and upgrading through innovation.
The forum was attended by the foreign business leaders, and Russian entrepreneurs and representatives of the business community such as: Dean of Innovation and Technological Business Department of the Academy of National Economy under the Government of RF Vladimir Zinov, chief expert on the development of innovative infrastructure of “Rusnano” Anatoly Zaikin, head of the Center “Marketing of Innovation” of state university High Economy School Tatiana Komissarova, Vice President of Center for Entrepreneurship of USA – Russia Erick Hansen, managing partner Hellevig, Klein & Usov Jon Hellevig, founder of UNOVA Media and the organizer of the National entrepreneurial contest BIT and iCamp Evgeniy Savin and others.
