RT Prime Minister reported about realization of the Project of IT-Park in Kazan.

The managers of JSC Innovational Technical Park Idea have reported to Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov about current preparation work of Technological Center of IT-Development’s organization in Kazan.

First vice RT Prime Minister – the Chairman of Innovational Technical Park Idea’s Board of Directors – Ravil Muratov, Tatarstan Minister of Economy Marat Safiullin, RT Minister of Trade and others have taken part in the meeting. From IBM Vice President Global Engineering Solutions North East Europe, Simon Porter and Director GES Europe, Michael Wirth presented their current business strategy.

This spring IBM Eastern Europe/Asia LTD has won in the completion of service in marketing researches, working out of strategic development and business plan for Technical center IT – working out of fitted systems in the area of machine building and oil and chemistry, having export potential. This center will be the basic ground of IT-park, which will be created in Kazan within the framework of the Federal Program of Technical Parks’ creation in Russia. In RF the volume of investments for innovation via Technical Parks will be 7,8 billion rubles. 3,4 billion rubles will be financed from regional budget; and 1 billion rubles is planed to be given by private companies and funds. The RT Innovational Technical Park Idea expects a significant share from this investment.

The RT government is very supportive and intents to use this Technological Center of IT-Development as the nucleus to develop local intellectual property for the local industry.

Within last 5 month IBM has made contact with leading RT industries to test the future IT development center mission, business goals and acceptance. The result of this has revealed a significant demand on IT skill and potential related industry partnering.

IBM has shared Business scenarios with the RT Prime Minister. It has been jointly agreed to proceed towards funding the set up an ITDC in a mutual partnership.
IBM has been asked to clarify this with Russian venture funds and come back with a final proposal in the first week of December to make a final decision on legal set up of the Technological Center of IT-Development.
