Selection of finalists of “UMNIK – Digital Russia. Kazan” was held in the Technopark “Idea”

17 october 2019

Today 40 young innovators from Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saratov and other Russian cities have presented projects for athletes, lovers of proper nutrition and motorists at the Technopark “Idea”. The presentation of the projects took place in the framework of the final of the contest “UMNIK - Digital Russia. Kazan”.

The participants of the competition were welcomed by the rector of the Kazan National Research Technological University (Kazan Chemical and Technological Institute), regional representative of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation in the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Yushko: “It is great that you offer your solutions and keep your finger on the pulse of digital transformation”, - he noted. “We are pleased that the Foundation is implementing the competition and supporting innovators”.

Maria Petrova from Chelyabinsk is applying for a grant from the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation for the first time. She is a professional athlete with a referee category. Therefore, she proposed a solution to the issue of evaluating the performances of pentathletes: “It is not so often that we, programmers and developers, have to speak in front of the public, which is why I feel a little nervous. I presented the project on the development of a program of hardware complex for carrying out training process and competitions in the pentathlon”.

This is a kind of pocket secretary for judges and athletes. We have 5 sports that are held in one day and you need to evaluate them as quickly as possible, while transferring them to a single point system. I propose to create the single complex, which will significantly reduce the number of hours of the competition (due to faster counting) and reduce the amount of work of judges. The idea has already been supported by the Pentathlon Federation of the Chelyabinsk Region”, - said Maria.

A student from Kazan Margarita Karimova presented an application that helps consumers to identify harmful and useful substances in the composition of products, for example, such as E-supplements. “Not all people know what is harmful in the composition of a product and what is useful. And the application will literally tell about it at the expense of one movement,”, - explained Margarita.

Note that the applications for the contest “UMNIK - Digital Russia. Kazan” were selected for the following “through” digital technologies:

  • artificial intelligence;
  • virtual and augmented reality technologies;
  • new manufacturing technologies;
  • components of robotics and sensorics;
  • wireless technology;
  • distributed registry systems;
  • quantum technologies.

Today, the best of the best were evaluated by an expert jury, which included CEO of the Technopark “Idea” Oleg Ibragimov, Head of the Startup Incubator of Innopolis University Artem Usov, representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, IT companies and others.

The best projects will receive a grant of 500,000 rubles from the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation!
