Technopark “Idea” took part in the IV St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum.

From September 28 to September 30, 2011 the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by Minister of Economy of the RT Midhat Shagiakhmetov took part in the IV St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum. This year the Republic of Tatarstan first time acted as the Forum co-organizer on invitation of the Government of St. Petersburg.       

The opening ceremony was attended by Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Michael Osejevsky, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midhat Shagiakhmetov, Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian Federation to the Northwest Federal District Sergey Zimin and other officials.    

The exhibition stand of the Republic of Tatarstan was located on one of the largest exhibit area. The exhibition presented about 100 Tatarstan innovation projects in eight areas: nanoindustry, mechanical engineering, chemistry and petrochemistry, medicine and healthcare, information technology, power engineering and energy and resource saving, construction and structural materials and light industry.

“Once more, we wish to show that the current projects in the Republic even today are under high level of elaboration. We would like to demonstrate them to potential investors, - said Midhat Shagiakhmetov. – The receiving party has expressed strong interest in our demonstration of Tatarstan projects in the filed of information technology – “GLONASS”, “Electronic document management”.

In addition to public authorities, over 30 organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan took part and presented their projects in the Forum, including: Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, 2 National Research Universities (Kazan National Research Technological University and Kazan National Research Technical University), PHC “Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky”, LLC “DANAFLEX-NANO”, LLC “RariTEK”, LLC “Ledel”, CJSC “Innovational production Technopark “Idea”, LLC “IPT “Idea-South-East”, Technopolis “Himgrad”, State Autonomous Institution “High Technology Technopark “IT-Park”, as well as small-sized innovative companies of leading universities of the Republic and others.   

Innovational production Technopark “Idea” presented the project of the Centre of Nanoscale Technologies “Idea”, the official opening of which will be in November, 2011, and 8 projects in the field of nanoindustry to be implemented in this Centre.        

The Project “Laser Centre” was also presented in the exposition in St. Petersburg. In March, 2009, Technopark “Idea” and Laser Centre of St. Petersburg concluded an Agreement within which LLC “Laser Centre of RT” with the assistance of the Russian Venture Company was established. The Laser Centre of RT is a resident of Technopark “Idea”. It renders practical assistance to enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan in mastering of advanced laser technology, offers consultations on possibilities to introduce laser processing technology into specific production, provides with equipment delivery, performs commissioning, repairing, servicing and guarantee maintenance of the supplied equipment, provides services for laser processing of various products and goods.                       

The IV St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum involved a plenary session “Human resources for innovation economy”. The session participants discussed solutions of personnel shortage problems to launch new innovative projects, personnel quality requirements and personnel training standard requirements, possibility of competence-based approach and personnel training mechanism “for the task”.             

The second plenary session of the Forum was devoted to the issue of innovation strategy of the regional development where Minister of Economy of the RT Midhat Shagiakhmetov made a presentation on “Balanced development of regions – the basis for innovation development of the region”.

Deputy Prime Minister of the RF Dmitry Kozak qualified Tatarstan as one of the leaders in innovative development of Russia. At the plenary session “Innovation strategy of the regional development” he expressed gratitude to Tatarstan as one of the leaders in innovative development of Russia for the fact that the Republic became one of the organizers of the Forum.        

Agreement of Cooperation between Tatarstan Technopolis “Himgrad” and Kaliningrad “Technopolis Gusev” was signed within the framework of the Forum.

Subject of the Agreement was bilateral assistance in solving problems of innovation market of all levels: from «Upstream» (business idea, research development) to «Downstream» (bringing innovation product and technology to the end consumer).

Investment and Development Project “Gusev technopolis: the territory of scientific and technology development” was implemented in Kaliningrad Region in 2008. Strategic target of the project — to create radio electronic industry cluster, new pole of innovation development at the federal level in Gusev town. The project feature is that it is 100% realized by a private investor, without state financing.

Today the aspect of sharing experiences within the regional cooperation between technopolises is very important for forming a common economic space in Russia. Owing to new examples of bilateral agreements, the cooperation between Russian regions gets a new impetus to intensive cluster integration. From this perspective, signing of such agreements – is a good sign for business, for people who are associated with innovation development and, above all, the country’s economy as a whole.

Agreement of Cooperation between Innovational production Technopark “Idea-South-East” (Leninogorsk) and Technopark “Ingria” (St. Petersburg) was signed as well.

To implement the Agreements the Parties will cooperate in the following priority areas: organization and development of small and medium-sized businesses engaged in innovation activities in the field of oil and gas industry, construction, power engineering, agro-industrial, information, nanotechnology and other technology areas, including industrial and consumer wastes recycling technology; organization and performance of expert appraisal, industrial-production, laboratory and field testing of innovative technologies, the latest models of equipment and its introduction; assistance in organization of production in St. Petersburg and Tatarstan by attracting representatives of small and medium-sized businesses from both regions; organization and conduction of advanced training and retraining, including training of experts in the field of innovation and others.

Technopark “Ingria” is created under the Federal program for high technology technoparks’ development. The Technopark will be located in the Nevsky district in the territory of 45 hectares. Investment volume in the project – 30 billion roubles. The first phase of Technopark will be put into operation in 2013.
