This year, Siemens Company, a resident of Technopark “Idea”, has celebrated its 160th anniversary of the foundation in Russia. Over the years, Siemens has always been and remains one of the leaders in innovative and efficient solutions and products.
The Company offices are currently located in 190 countries. It is focused on such areas as Industry, Energy, City Infrastructure as well as Healthcare. In addition, Siemens is a global supplier of environmentally-friendly technology.
Siemens operates in all main activity areas in Russia, has locations in over 30 cities and is one of the leading suppliers of products, services and complex solutions for modernization of the country’s key economy and infrastructure sectors.
Siemens established its first office in St. Petersburg in 1853.
Siemens has been started its cooperation with Tatarstan enterprises from the 1930s – first Kazan CHP-plants were fitted with the Company’s power equipment. In the 1990s, the relationship between our country and Siemens was characterized by a new round. In 1996, an enterprise “VDO Automotive components” (combined instruments for VAZ and “Oka” cars, tachographs for “KAMAZ” and buses “NEFAZ”) was established in Chistopol with the participation of a subsidiary company “Siemens Automotive AG”. A digital switching equipment “Siemens” was also supplied and commissioned on the same occasion in several regions of Zakama. The Company has implemented the communication infrastructure project for International airport “Kazan”. Cellular Networks "MegaFon" and "Beeline" have been organized in Tatarstan on the basis of Siemens equipment. Active cooperation is carried on in Medicine. One of the last major projects - equipping the Republican Clinical Hospital with magnetic resonance imaging scanner.
The first representative office in Tatarstan became a resident of Technopark "Idea" in 2007. A new stage of an active cooperation between the Company and the Republic has been started from that time. During the 6 years, a resident of Technopark has been engaging in the support of industrial enterprises and has been offering a comprehensive approach to automation, power distribution and unified software.
In addition, in 2012, Tatarstan and Siemens signed an Agreement on Strategic Partnership Development. The Company will also participate in such projects as "Innopolis" and "SMART City Kazan."
