The Second regional venture fair and projects presented in the event fit to the spirit of time.

It was the point that the Minister of Education and Science of Russian Federation Andrey Fursenko announced in the presentation on the subject of «Strategy of development the attractive region from the point of view of investing». The Second regional venture fair was hold on July 11, 2007 in the GTRK “Korston”. The President of the Republic ofTatarstan Mintimer Shaymiev took part in the Fair.

Mintimer Shaymiev noted that the Second venture fair points to the success of the previous Fair, which was carried out in June 2005 in Kazan. “It means there is a necessity of holding such events again and again”, he said. The head of the republic also mentioned one of the key tasks that were identified in present Russian President's message to Federal Assembly – development and introduction of high tech products.

The President of Tatarstan added that our republic is one of the first regions that places high emphasis on this issue; new science centers and technoparks were created during previous years.

On completion of the solemn part of the event Mintimer Shaymiev and Andrey Fursenko looked over the exhibition and became acquainted with innovative projects of companies- exhibitors.

After the exhibition the President of Tatarstan and the Minister of Education and Science of Russian Federation took part in the presentation devoted to the strategy of development of the investment attractive region that was hold by the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnihkanov. There were another participants and speakers in the presentation: the First Deputy Prime-Minister of Tatarstan Republic Ravil Muratov, Chief Executive of Russian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Albina Nikonen and Deputy Head of Federal Agency for Science and Innovations Inna Bilenkina.

Ravil Muratov opened a subject, concerning the strategy of development of the investment attractive Republic ofTatarstan. So, $ 6.25 billion were attracted in the last year to the Tatarstan. “There is special attention to preparation for innovative areas infrastructure in our republic – Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”, Technoparks and business-incubators”, - Ravil Muratov announced.

On completion of the conference Rustam Minnihkanov and Chief Executive of Russian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Albina Nikonen signed a cooperation agreement. The Prime-Minister claimed that the Venture fair will be henceforward hold every year in Kazan and will named Kazanventure fair.

Business program of the Fair included wide range of events devoted to problems of innovative and venture business development in Tatarstan and Volga Federal Region, analysis of Russian and foreign experience in direct private investing, prospects of state-private partnership and venture business development in Russia.

Judge Committee under the chairmanship of Director of «BIA International Relations» Michael Nagel and professor of the Higher School of Economics Ivan Rodionov was estimating and choosing the best companies according to 5 core nominations all day long.

Rewarding ceremony was opened by the Director-General of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko. He mentioned there were two investors, not counting judges, on each company-exhibitor, so the Fair was an immediate success. The Judge Committee said it was rather difficult to estimate the exhibitors as there were several companies, worth to be rewarded at each nomination.

SMP-Mechanics LLC (Laishevskiy rayon) was admitted as “The best company of the Fair”. The company was set up 6 years ago. The main product - heat-insulated stuff made up from basalt. The company representatives convinced the participants of the ceremony that “fluff can be made from stone”.

Special prize of Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan Republic was presented by the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnihkanov to Nizhekamskregeneraciy LLC (Kazan). At the moment the company develops the production of benzoic acid, commercial molybdenum oxide and other chemical products.

Heyvus CJSC (Naberezhnye Chelny) won the reward from the one of the Fair organizers - Russian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. The company is specialized in producing the training apparatus for muscle rehabilitation. Heyvus CJSC was awarded to take part in the VIII Russian venture fair, which will be hold in October, 2007 in St.-Petersburg, without any examination and charges.

The Second regional venture fair gave all the companies unique opportunity to present themselves to investors – venture and investment funds, insurance companies and banks from different parts of the world. The total amount of the participants of the Fair was 460 ones.
