A final session of the Interuniversity School of Innovation Startup took place in Kazan

The final expert session of the Interuniversity School of Innovation Startup - 2017 was held in the Technopark “Idea”. More than 30 students, masters, postgraduates and employees of KFU and other higher educational institutions of the republic were trained at the school. Experts were presented projects in such areas as future medicine, biotechnology, information technologies, advanced materials and technologies for its creation, new instruments and hardware complexes.

The commission consisted of: Deputy Director for Science of the Tatarstan Center for Scientific and Technical Information Radiy Salimov, Head of the Innovation Development Department of the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Arsen Savva, Director of the Research and Production Company “PolimerTech” Viktor Nosov, Project Manager of Association “Non-Profit Partnership “Kamsky Innovative Territorial and Production Cluster” (INNOKAM), Deputy General Director of the Foundation for Regional Innovation Projects of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia Arthur Zamaliev, Director of the International Business Education Center LINK Ilya Antonov, the head of the Research and Innovation Department of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergeyi Gorbachev, head of the Development of Innovative Programs of Technopark “Idea” Farida Gainullina.

The session was opened by CEO of Technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko, who noted the importance of the event for the further successful protection of projects and said that similar experience of carrying out accelerated educational programs within the universities repeats the successful experience of the Massachusetts Technology Institute. This can lead the universities of Tatarstan to the forefront in the development of high-tech entrepreneurship.

In total, more than 30 students, masters, postgraduate students and employees of both KFU and other higher educational institutions of the republic were trained in the School. Experts were presented projects in such areas as future medicine, biotechnology, information technologies, advanced materials and technologies for its creation, new instruments and hardware complexes.

Irek Mukhamatdinov, Candidate of Sciences, senior researcher of the scientific research laboratory “in-situ combustion” of the Institute of Geology, Oil and Gas Technologies of the KFU, presented his project “Development of a method for converting heavy oils and natural bitumen in reservoir conditions”. The project received high marks from experts.

The best project in the field of ecology, according to experts, became a project “System of Biological Quality Control of the Environment “Toxicity Analyzer TrackTox” of Candidate of Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Ecology of the Institute of Ecology and Nature Management of KFU Oleg Nikitin.

The greatest interest was caused by the project in IT-technologies of the Master of Law Faculty of KFU Ilfat Gilmutdinov. “Ytruth.one is development of an online platform for (structuring) management of educational content on the basis of a tool that represents knowledge in a mindmap”. The project is aimed at helping applicants at the stage of choice, both the future profession and the university for training.

Radiy Salimov noted that all projects are very strong and wished the authors not to stop on their laurels and apply for contests of such funds as Skolkovo, RVC, RUSNANO. Director of the International Business Education Center LINK Ilya Antonov added that, despite the good technical design of the projects, not all of them have a qualitative analysis of the market and risks. Head of the Innovation Development Department of the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Arsen Savva stressed that the Kazan Federal University has once again confirmed its high level, all projects are based on serious fundamental research, which the University is famous for, and thanked the organizers for the excellent work.

Recall that the Interuniversity School of Innovation Startup is a pilot project of the Kazan (Volga region) Federal University and provides an opportunity to prepare a qualitative application for participation in the program “Start” of the Foundation for the Assistance of Innovation and adequately present and protect its project. During the training the students got knowledge and experience in the field of patenting of intellectual property, marketing analysis, preparation of financial and production plan, and also learned about the ways of financial support of innovative projects existing at the moment both in the Republic of Tatarstan and abroad.

The training course of the School is aimed at preparing students for participation in the program “Start” of the Foundation for the Assistance of Innovation. The expert session gives listeners an opportunity to present their project, gain experience of public speaking in conditions close to real protection of projects on the competitive commission and receive valuable comments, recommendations and advice from experts in various professional fields. The winners of the program “Start” will receive a grant of 2 million rubles for the industrial implementation of their projects.
